Army's post-Morsi roadmap and Clashes near military barracks in Cairo

Army's post-Morsi roadmap

  • Constitution to be suspended temporarily and interim president sworn in
  • "Strong and competent" civilian technocratic government to be installed
  • Supreme Court to pass a draft law on parliamentary election and prepare for parliamentary and presidential polls
  • "Charter of honour" to be drawn up and followed by the media
  • Measures taken to empower young people and a national reconciliation committee to be formed
on another hand:
At least 42 people have been shot dead near a military barracks in Cairo, amid ongoing unrest following the removal of Egypt's President Mohammed Morsi.
The Muslim Brotherhood says its members were staging a pro-Morsi sit-in at the barracks, where he is believed to be in detention, when they were fired on.
But the army said a "terrorist group" had tried to storm the barracks.
The office of interim president Adly Mansour expressed "deep sorrow" over the deaths and called for restraint.
In a statement, he too said there had been an attempt to storm the Presidential Guard barracks, left two army soldiers  dead and forty injured during their duty of protecting the area.
Mr Mansour ordered the formation of a judicial committee to investigate the clashes, and urged protesters not to approach the military or "vital installations".

We strongly condemn the MB for such violence against the Egyptian Army, which is backed and supported by the majority of Egyptians, and their violent protests to hinder the will of the Egyptian people, by terrorizing and threatening the Egyptian People which is against Islam and human rights, in an effort to show that not the majority of Egyptians are against Morsi, and make it appear like it is a military coup although the protests against Morsi are the largest political protest in the history of mankind. Shame on Muslim Brothers for dividing and polarizing the people of Egypt and try to drive the country into civil war. We hold the Muslim Brothers for the violence and blood shed, and we support the army who are backing the crowd and self defense since the Muslim Brothers who started those clashes.
We further condemn, together with the majority of Egyptians the US foreign policy and Ambassador in Egypt, CNN, Rasd and Gezira channel for not being fair and neutral and  for supporting such a terrorist group or to describe what is happening in Egypt as a military coup.

We hereby urge the younger and more mature Muslim Brothers not to blindly follow their terrorist leaders and go home of join the nation wide protests to free Egypt from such a fascist government of Muslim Brothers who failed during the last years in all aspects to lead the Egyptian moderate people.

Best Regards,
Mohamed E. Shaheen
